Heat Wave
France is getting a little July warning with very high temps signaling a problematic summer for the indebted country. The Health Minestry set the alert at Stage III, which is the highest alert for heat waves. The President did not issue a “Heat Wave” yet but was watching temperatures rise and wondering if they might stop.
Chinese Floods
The Chinese floods in southern China and South Eastern China have caused many deaths and forced over 700,000 to evacuate from their homes. And it is going to get worse before it gets better as meteorologists are predicting another 3-4 days of strong storm surges, but the water has no where left to go. Over ninety people in one village were swept away by the flooding so far and all are presumed dead and that is just in the last two days.
Hitch Hikers, Where Did They Go?
Have you been noticing lately especially after 9-11 that there are indeed, fewer people trying to hitch a ride? Remember we use to see them all over the place at many of the on ramps to freeways and highways. Yet I am seeing fewer hitchhikers these days. I think it is because families are closer together lately after 9-11 and that churches are picking up the slack, with more monies from more people attending and more people supporting those struggling.
Lost in the Woods
Today (June 21, 2005) we learned that 11 year old cub scout Brennan Hawkins who had been missing from a Boy Scout camp near Salt Lake 4 days was found alive and well. It seems like a miracle. Thanks God!
